I just got my hands on a great telecaster from these guys. They were very helpful on the phone and set my guitar up exactly as I asked them to with 11's on it. I will look to use them again. Was particularly impressed with the way the guitar was delivered to me on time and well packed. Good job well done chaps..! far better service than my local shop...

Bought a guitar that arrived late, in a beaten up second or possibly third hand box. Hard to tell, but it did have other addresses on it. It had some damage to the finish, including a chip out of the headstock and compression damage to the front & rear of the neck, plus the strings were kinked.

Initially, I was happy to get some small compensation, such as strings replaced, but the shop phoned up & said they would do a door to door courier swap with one they had in stock, it would be thoroughly checked, and they would throw in some free strings. This turned out to be inaccurate. The guitar went to the shop and I did not receive a replacement.
On inquiring, I was eventually told that they now had no replacement (a fact that I got a friend to verify by email - and found to be false), and could only offer a refund. I surmised that this was because they put the prices up on the website a day after I bought this one.

When I confronted them with the fact that I knew they had stock coming in the next day (as told to my friend), they implied that although they had confirmed the damage that I described via email on the day of delivery, that somehow I was now in breach of their terms and conditions.. something about it not being in the original condition or packaging (no - I repaired the packaging which was full of holes, and did a set up on the guitar to make it playable). I also had the opportunity to pay more money to get it replaced, and was told some hard luck story about how they were now out of pocket by more than £20 on this guitar (unlikely when you see how much these things cost at trade prices). Also note that the offer of replacement was by phone only, which breaks their own terms & conditions stating that all correspondance will be by email for record keeping.

Bottom line is, they hiked the prices the day after I bought it, and saw a way of offloading a slightly damaged guitar for a slight discount that was still higher than the price I would be refunded. Then had the nerve to imply I was being unreasonable, then to cap it all, claimed that the prices had only gone up after I sent the guitar back, as if that were a valid excuse even if it were true. I was frankly amazed at the amount of effort they put into fabricating stories to first of all get the guitar back off me, then to avoid replacing it.

On top of all this, the claims on the website that each guitar is thoroughly checked are in my case completely untrue. The guitar as delivered had not ever been so much as tuned. All tuners were aligned, and had never been touched, and fine tuners (on a locking trem setup) were all untouched apart from one which was wound out completely. Even allowing for the fact that the damage noted above could possibly have happened after it left them, this is not what I would call a thorough check up, or even a cursory one.

Steer clear. The prices might be cheap, and at least one of the staff (Dane) seemed genuinely helpful, but don't expect customer care or professionalism.

Oh & yes, I did get my refund & bought a replacement from Guitar Village in Farnham, who so far have been nothing but a delight to shop with. A marked difference to these people.

I agree with the comment above completely, i have had nothing of fantastic service from these chaps.. start to finish!

Not being from Exeter, i was never to sure about buying guitar stuff online (i always like to buy at my local shop) i gave these guys a try with an intial order for just a £69 tuner pedal.. up until I recently purchased a £900 Takamine acoustic.. arrived on my doorstep 2 days later, securely boxed, beautifully set-up, and i was kept informed through the whole process by a very nice member of staff called 'Dane'.

From Devon up to me in Glasgow, no problems what so ever!
Friendly, Knowledgable staff and amazing prices, I will certainly be putting any future purchases through these guys, no doubt about it!

Keep up the fantastic work.

I'm glad that you had good service. I however did not, as you can see above.

So far 1 good, 1 bad review, and the good one was for a guitar stand? Not likely to be anything wrong with one of those even for a terrible shop.
