The Taj Mahal is my local Indian restaurant and it's also one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever visited. They do great restaurant dining and fantastic takeaway.
One of my favourite aspects is that it has almost a family feel about it - the staff have (for the most part) stayed the same for the past 4 or 5 years and it's easy to get to know them. They always seem to appreciate regular customers and have a great memory for names.
Dining in is my preference because food never tastes the same out of foil containers. The portion sizes are good and the food is always freshly prepared then and there. The Peshawari Chicken is probably my favourite meal there... but they do a massive selection of meals for every taste.
Booking is essential on a Saturday night!
