Reviews for MC Cafe Bar
I had an extremely memorable meal at this Michael Caines cafe/restaurant last weekend. This establishement is next door to the Michael Caines ABode restaurant which unfortunately was not open for lunch on Sunday so we went next door to the MC Cafe Bar. It had a lovely, friendly atmosphere and the staff were very attentive but not overwhelming. The menu is innovative and not overpriced.
I usually avoid roasts when I go out to eat as I find they are rarely as good as you can make at home. However, as I really fancied a Sunday lunch I opted for the roast beef on the specials menu. It was fabulous. And at only £6.95 it could not be faulted. The beef was cooked just perfectly covered with just the right amount of rich, tasty gravy, crispy roast potatoes, a melange of vegetables which again were cooked just right not soft and overdone and the most perfectly risen and shaped Yorkshire pudding ever created!
For dessert I had Pear poached in Mulled Wine with Spiced Brown Bread Ice Cream. I know this may sound a bit strange but you just have to try the flavours together. Just superb and most suited to the festive time of year. I'm going to try and make this for my guests at Christmas/New Year! I highly recommend it!
