Browns manages to be quintessentially British while combining a French brasserie with an American burger joint. The result is vivacious and good humoured, while the portions are large and it is very popular with children. The menu offers a bit of everything; burgers, salads, pasta and steaks. The food is wholesome and plentiful and it's a great place for lunch with the kids.

Not again
Now what Browns do better that most is serve drinks their cocktails, wine & beers are all worth a visit, however I now have to mention the food. I'm sure it will not come as a surprise to anyone that you can go in to any Browns in the country and find the same menu on the same day, this is simply because all the food is bought in and heated up. I prefer a more traditional meal where its cooked to order & where minor imperfections are evidence of a freshly just cooked meal.
I ate the warm spicy chicken salad and although it was OK it could easily have been served in any other mass chain restaurant.

Consistently Good
Browns has been long established on George Street and has been consistently good. Great food, great cocktails and wine. Comfortable seating with a great atmosphere. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal here (well OK once I did). If you are looking for somewhere where you know you will enjoy your meal then Browns is definitely somewhere you should go.
