    Excellent Intimate Indian Restaurant

Gandhi's is certainly a cosy, little gem of an Indian restaurant hidden with a small frontage off Lothian Road. The room is small and narrow but the decor is warm and pleasing with unusually modern art on display on the walls. The food is of a good standard though not especially original in its range though there is a particularly good selection for vegetarians. The service is friendly and informal. They have a strange predilection for forgetting my raita for some reason but I'll forgive them.

Small, friendly Indian restaurant with interesting dishes as well as the usual suspects.
King Prawn Puri appears pricey, but the quality and quantity of this star starter means you'd have to be a gourmet in a state of advanced malnutrition to manage a main course after it. We've tried various mains over several visits and have yet to find anything falling below a high standard. Naans are snowshoe-size rather than continental quilt and you should be able to devour these without exploding.
Lunchtime thalis are excellent - great value, presentation and taste.
    Highly recommended.
