Too loud for me
Although I'm a teatotaller, I do need a caffeine injection each day and visit most of the coffee shops of Edinburgh from time to time. Of all that I have visited, this is one of those which I am least likely to return to. I know it's very popular, but for me, the 'mix' just wasn't right.
I love a Sunday afternoon spending a morning reading the papers with a warm latte in hand and, as a result of traffice restrictions one day, decided to try this as opposed to my regular haunt.
Although the coffee was good, I found the music far too loud to be comfortable to the extent that I put my own headphones in (they're noise cancelling ones!) just to be able to sit and read the papers comfortably.
The noise was probably the biggest off-putting factor, although the day I visited, there was a large number of families in which wasn't really conducive to a relaxing Sunday morning read of the papers.
If kids and loud music are your 'thing', however, I suspect you will love this Beanscene.
