Reviews for The Melville
This pub is wonderful! I used to come here every friday for a pub lunch with work friends, the menu is great and the food is even better!
Traditional food such as fish and chips, sandwiches, burgers and much, much more.
Hidden away at the westend of town, the bar staff are always helpful and will make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
The drinks are all reasonably priced and served quickly, all the tables are clean and kept tidy, it can get busy, especially during big football matches but they will always try and fit you in!
Nice seating area outside for smokers.
Great place for a break after shopping or for some lunch. Highly recommened.
The Melville is a small pub tucked away in William Street in Edinburgh's West End.
The pub offers food but I have never tried it as I tend to eat out in pubs with my daughter and sadly the Melville doesn't allow children in.
It can get very busy in here in the evenings but the service is usually very good - Betty, the landlady runs a very tight ship and one of the reasons I loved this place when I first went in and kept going back was the way she kept every unused table spotless for the next customer.
The pub has a quiz night on Thursdays and has karaoke on Saturdays every 4 weeks or so. The karaoke is great fun and lots of people take part.
The pub also has an extensive jukebox which adds to the fun filled ambience of the place.
A highly recommended pub.
