Excellent bar in the centre of Edinburgh. It's on william street which is only a couple of minutes from the west end but feels much more laid back and relaxed. A good if dark restaurant in the basement (called "a room in the west end") is handy but comfy leather sofas to sink into with a pint upstairs are the biggest draw. Good choice of beer with some Caledonian ales usually available and a wide selection of whisky to keep to it's highlander theme. Gets a bit busy with the friday after work crowd so best get in early to nab an armchair!
