This bar is a real find amongst all the dreary style bars and such. It's the only pub in Edinburgh not owned by a brewery and has it's own very distinctive old-fashioned style. It's a very nice quiet place to come and have a drink and look around at the various old artefacts and many old posters that line the walls. Apparently the owner is partial to the quiet life and has been known to just shut the doors if it gets too busy. Upstairs is like the inside of a boat and sometimes hosts live music and poetry events
