Cumberland Bar

Reviews for Cumberland Bar
The Cumberland sits in Edinburgh's new Town amongst the residences of the 'elite' in Edinburgh society. As such, this bar has a lovely mix of clientele from the offspring of the well-heeled, to local office workers from nearby the nearby financial institutions at the bottom of Dundas Street. So, a fine mix of suits and retired lawyers in this comfortable bar.
Outside is a small beer garden area which, on the rare summer's day we get in Edinburgh, has a great little atmosphere uninterrupted by the street noise above.
If you are uninterested by the bars and pubs of George Street, then it is well worth the short walk down to the Cumberland for a pint in a bar which encourages conversation and companionship by having none of the usual distractions of a 21st century boozer!
No music, no fruit machines, television only for special sporting events, bare wood floors, traditional real ales, a roaring coal fire in winter. What's not to like?
Really out of the way, but a fantastic pub with a good drinks selection and nice big tables. http://cumberlandbar.co.uk/
