I think overall the menu selection has improved. The only thing which has suffered is the dessert selection.
Food quality was still very good. Service was very friendly but a bit slow considering they weren't too busy. Certainly good value for money.
I like the pub a lot - it can be a bit dark but that adds to its character.
Good selection of beers.

Has been rebranded as a Vintage Inn (still Mitchell and Butler) since my last visit.

This Restaurant Bar has recently had a bit of a makeover, to the menu as well as the bar! I couldn't decide what to have as it all looked so yummy! there were variations in classic dishes, one extra ingredient made it hard to choose! And don't worry about eating too much, the downs with their splendid views are just over the road, the brisk walk takes away any guilt pangs!

Very good food at a splendid location - remember to check out the specials board. Be prepared to wait to be served at the bar as it is very popular at the weekend.
