I never knew where Che Vita was until we accidentally happened upon it one night when looking for somewhere to eat.

The food is really good - it is a typical Italian restaurant in that it has a choice of pizzas, pasta, fish, salad and some meat dishes as well as a good choice of desserts. And choice was something that the menu is certainly not lacking it - there really is a meal for everyone here and it's quite hard to choose what you want!

The price is generally quite reasonable with friendly staff and the atmosphere giving a definite Italian feel.

Easy to find and convenient to get to, no matter where you're coming from, it is next to the Durham Travel Lodge in Gilesgate. The only gripe I have is that the car park is very small and hard to manouvere in.

That said, the food makes it all worth it! I can recommend the steak, it was quite possible the best I've ever had and cooked to perfection!

The waiting staff were pleasant and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they even recommended a dish for my wife.

We are planning to book our works Christmas party there this year

I LOVE Chevita! Sited next to the Travel Lodge at the bottom of Gilesagte bank just off the roundabout, it's really to get to. Although the main car park is shared with the Travel Lodge and is fairly small, they do have an overflow car park that can be used if needed.

Everytime I have been there, the food has been fantastic, the service quick and efficient and the atmosphere friendly an welcoming.

The prices are fairly reasonable and well worth it for the quality of the food. I can recommend the Chicken proscuitto it was delicious!

The interior is quite large and is an ideal place for parties etc.

I like this restaurant. Very big and spacious for a place in Durham, the food is good and reasonably priced, although possibly a little expensive for students. They do have a lot of large parties go there so it can be a little noisy on occasion.
