I've been drinking here for the past twenty years and it's always been my favourite pub in the town. It's always pretty busy with a good mix of people. On thursdays there's always a live rock band and other nights have traditional music sessions. At the weekends there's a disco upstairs and other events such as singing contests run throughout the year. The decor is fabulous with a kind of modern art nouveau style and it's very clean and comfortable. They have a very good and reasonably priced lunch menu. There's also a sheltered smoking area at the back which gets quite lively. Beer prices are reasonable and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. It's usually open till 1 or 2 am at the weekends and all in all is a great place to go out with friends or meet some of the locals.
