The fishermans has been one of the most popular pubs in Broughty Ferry for many years now and rightly so. It's expanded up Fort street a little over the years with lounge bars and accomodation to add to the original pub, there's even a wee beer garden round the back!

Fishermans has won numerous CAMRA awards over the years and quite rightly so. There are usually five or six cask ales on tap and they are kept in pretty good condition. I suppose my only grouch about the place is that on busy weekends it can be a victim of its own success and it can feel a wee bit crowded, the low ceiling probably adds to that but also creates a bit of character too. Lunchtime food seems to be very popular and I would say it probably attracts a more affluent slightly older clientel than some pubs.

Personally I think it lost something when it moved more upmarket about 15 years ago and they took out the formica tables and the picture of the oil rig from round the back, but that's probably just me!

I have recently returned from staying 3 nights at the Fishermans Tavern. They have 14 guest rooms, I had one room and my father had a room. They were both modern and clean. You were supplied with complimentary Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Apple Juice and Orange Juice and Biscuits. The food was excellent, we ate in the restaurant all three nights and breakfast was also great. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Its location was great. Only problem was parking and it wasn't too bad. I would highly recommend staying at the Fishermans Tavern, only wished we could have stayed longer.

Cosy local bar with decent real ale and a beer garden (with real grass, not concrete!).
