The remnant shop on head street is a gem, it is full of lovely rolls of sparkly satin, sequined materials, lace, velvets, tartans, in fact it has so many types and varieties of material that you will be spoilt for choice. I recently had to buy some material for a costume party and was at a loss as to where to look, Once I decided to head in to town, I remembered the remnant shop and it had just what I needed, so the problem was easily solved. The window usually displays a colourful array of stock to tempt you in and the staff are helpful and nice. I will be going in soon to sort out some material for cushion covers and am looking forwards to being spoilt for choice once again.

The remnant shop is just what is says on the tin - a shop which sells fabric off cuts as well as fabric by the metre. It is based on head street in colchester and if you are looking for something a bit different then it’s a worth while visit. They also have all the usual haberdasherie items such as buttons and zips and lace trims to add to your craft projects. you can get some real bargains here, and it sells the kind of stuff which you can’t find anywhere else, like chalk for marking out fabric, and those blocks of colour dye which you use in the washing machine. The people who work here are friendly and helpful so I tend to use this shop quite often when I visit colchester.
