I've lived in Colchester for three years and have been visiting V Bar all that time. It's a small building that's easy to miss, but inside it has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Drinks are slightly more than somewhere like Wetherspoons, but it's not 'wine bar' price. On Thursdays (I think!) it's 'toss the boss' night where customers can get half price drinks if they win a toin coss. Throughout the week there is various music playing. Tuesdays are particulary good if you like less mainstream indie music, and Fridays are good for Chart music. It's generally packed. I've been to a couple of parties that have hired out the top floor and it's a really good venue for it - the right size and lots of seating, etc.

My only criticism is that the air condition is often on full whack during the day - it's freezing, sort it out!
