The castle park at colchester is lovely. It surrounds the beautiful norman castle and has beautiful lawned areas, lovely flower displays all year round and also has a good childrens play area that is popular. It is set on a hill and so parts of it are quite steep so bear this in mind. The park hosts various events during the year including concerts and a really excellent fire work display that is hosted by the king coel kittens on behalf of local charities. It has a small boating lake were you can hire pedal boats for a short while and a bowling green too.
