springsteens is the best place on this planet for breakfast. the staff are great. also a great place for a late night coffee and pancakes. a value for money diner for sure

For an American themed diner, there is very little American about it. The Owner must have thought, stick a few record sleeves up the people of Carrick will think this is what it’s like in the states! The Décor leaves a lot to be desired; so much more could have been achieved if it had a proper American diner’s 50’s theme to it. The Menu itself tries a bit too hard if anything, tries to be a jack of all trades and a master of none, too much is offered instead of specializing on a smaller group of excellent offerings. Standard burgers, chicken burgers etc are all there as are breakfast options like local Ulster Fries or American pancakes – the Fries I’ll admit are excellent but seriously, seriously overpriced. And that unfortunately is the whole problem with Springsteen’s. I’m not tight; I don’t mind paying for quality, but £8 for a burger in a diner? Any American’s or Canadians reading this, don’t be expecting free drink refills either – even coffee at breakfast time, and they are also vastly over priced for the amount you actually get for your money. It can be difficult to get a seat at the weekends, especially during early morning as it is one of the few places in Carrickfergus open at this time. Don’t let the queue fool you though, it’s because of necessity of somewhere to eat, not reflective of the quality on offer.

johnnyutah what a rubbish review !!! springsteens is good value excellent food, staff and never fails to impress, we try to go at least once a month and have never had a complaint, the kids love it !

This is a popular casual eating place. Always busy and buzzing! Tasty food with an American themed menu but provide local cuisine as well.
Great meeting place to enjoy a coffee and dougnut. Young energetic staff to see to your needs.
At peak times you may have to wait for a table but its worth in the end. Lovely cosy warm atmosphere to get indoors away from our costant rain this summer.
