An earlier reviewer complained that the service could have been quicker. What a shame it would be if it were to change. Don't go to the Daffodil for a quick snack - go there for a long, relaxed meal; the building is delightful, the ambience perfect. The service is professional and efficient but always friendly. Enjoy a cocktail in the balcony bar overlooking the restaurant and kitchen and soak up the atmosphere of this great reataurant. (Oh, by the way, the food is great).

Had a great meal here, although service could have been a bit quicker. We had mixed starter and dessert platters to share, which were excellent - there was loads of food. The main course was also delicious - but you need to order veg separately.

At The Daffodil, Mondays are Jazz nights, so last week I went with friends for a meal and a listen. The place is a newly refurbished art deco style building (formerly a cinema) with a small stage for the musicians.

I had the set Jazz menu, which was a starter of chicken liver salad, followed by salmon cooked with a sesame seed crust, followed by the most delicious chocolate pudding, with summer berries sauce and cream. The whole meal was absolutely superb. The service was excellent - very friendly, and the wine was good too.

The whole meal, including drinks, was around £35. A bit pricey maybe (depends what you are used to I suppose), but very enjoyable.

I went to the Daffodil and found the staff to be very professional and courteous. The ambiance of the room was terrific I felt very relaxed and comfortable. The band just topped the evening off perfectly turning what would have usually been just a meal into a sophisticated night to remember. Food was excellent. I would recommend this place to anybody. I'll be going again, see you there.

I found The Daffodil a very funky place. A bit of London style and art deco theatre in Cheltenham that has just been redesigned. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff with good quality food. I go regularly to the Monday jazz evenings where they have some top line entertainment and have found the music great with lots of different styles of performers from all over the country. This combines with the lovely food and have never found the FREE jazz music loud. Conversely it has been ambient and stylish.

The Daffodil is a great place to eat with good food and a fine ambience.
I have been there a few times with Business guests and everyone has been impressed with the restaurant and the menu.
It's also a great place to take your loved one for a special occasion.
WARNING I recently visited on a Monday evening and there was a Jazz band playing, LOUDLY, even though we asked for the volume to be reduced it wasn't and we had to shout to each other. Great if you like Jazz, poor if you want to chat.

This is the reason for the 3 star rating.
