I have been to the Knockagh Lodge many times and have found it to be a very enjoyable night.I have only ever had 1 bad moment where the waitress gave my med to well done steak to a friend and i got his rear steak to which my friend ate both and i got a new steak for free plus a free round of drinks

My partner and I went for dinner on Saturday 27th September 2008 to celebrate my birthday and it was a disaster from start to finish! The service was a disgrace!
Our table was booked for 8pm and despite it not being a busy night in the place our table was not ready until 8.45pm. They also brought my partner's starter out to the table we were sitting at at the bar, even though they knew we had a table booked in the restaurant!
When we got to our table,they forgot about my starter and I had to ask for it (This after a 15min wait!). As part of our meal, garlic potatoes were ordered, but they brought down boiled potatoes and a coke was ordered, which after waiting 15 mins the waitress had to be reminded.
In order to apologise for the service we received, the waitress was going to offer us free desserts, but after waiting 15mins she was nowhere to be seen.
The food itself was nothing special and have had better Sunday dinners in the comfort of my own home.
I can honestly say that WE WILL NOT BE BACK AND WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!

The Knockagh Lodge is now a long and well established restaurant and party/special occaision venue in the area. Food has always been of a very high standard every time I have visited. A lovely view over farmland and then on down to the shores of Belfast Lough create a nice place to enjoy a meal. Staff have always been friendly and efficient. The last time I was there was for a function for over 200 people for Carrickfergus Gateway. The service was excellent the food warm and very very good, considering the numbers of people being served this was no small feat. The sunday carvery can also be well reccommended, very popular so I advise getting there as soon as possible so as to ensure you can get a table. Drinks prices are on par with any hotel I've drank in, nothing too horrendously priced but nothing overly cheap either. Food prices ae good value for the quality and large portions on offer. Has a range or rooms for parties and special occaisions from rooms that hold 200 plus, to rooms for around 50 guests.
