Throughly enjoyed the food, wine, service and atmosphere! My steak was to die for and my husband said his veal was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be going again.

This used to be a very popular restuarant in Cardiff but I must admit I've been disappointed on the few occasions I've been there recently. Their lunchtime menu is excellent and service is quick. Evenings, however, are a different matter. La Brasserie does serve a variety of meat and fish such as veal, steak, sea bass etc and the meat/fish itself is on display in chiller cabinets for you to choose. However, you do pay for accompaniments separately. Once or twice I have ordered steak and fries and that is literally all I have had - no side salad, no garnish, no vegetables. The price is not cheap so I would expect more for my money. The food is very nice though and the ambience of the restaurant is also very good. They do a full wine list and have a full licensed bar. Their wines are renowned and a few good bottles are available.
