I've had some good meals here, but I've had some disappointing ones too...the cooking seems to be a bit variable, and to be honest the last time I visited I think value for money was pretty poor considering the mediocre offering of greasy tempura and sparse, poor quality fish 'chunks' which were my main. Phad Thai remains a good quality standard, but my fellow diners rated the poussin and black bean beef as only 'ok'.

Friendly and efficeint service, in sophisticated yet not too formal a setting.

Cardiff is limited for good places to eat but the Thai house is consistently at the top.

Thai House is a top of the range restaurant. It is nicely decorated and wonderfully perfumed. The staff is extremely polite, welcoming and professional. The menu is clear and descriptive, and the waiters are happy to help too. All the food was thoroughly enjoyable, some of it was actually quite delicious. The highlights were my partner's starter (I can't remember the name, but it was the last of the cold starters) which consisted of several little dishes and some leaves. The idea was to use the leave as a wrap to hold small pieces of lime, coconut, chilli, peanuts, ginger, etc. Great taste! The other highlight was my desert, which was a fragrant rice pudding with mango. It tasted wonderful.
I recommend this restaurant, and although it is rather on the expensive side, I will go back for special occasions.

The food is SUPERB every time. They are the pinnacle to which I judge all other Thai restaurants. The ingredients make the food and they are the genuine article. The coconut flavour, beautiful kaffir lime leaves, tender cuts of meat. They truly take pride in their work.

The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Absolutely no attitude.

If anyone asked me for a recommendation, hand to make heart – Thai House.
