My wife and I go to Ichiban on albany road at least twice a month for their fab Japanese cuisine.

Don't be fooled into thinking that Japanese food is all seafood (my wife doesnt even like seafood and she loves Ichiban) There are a wide range of rice, noodle and side dishes - chicken, beef and vegetable options are available for most dishes.

Although for those of you that do like sushi, eel and cuttlefish tentacles there is plenty on the menu to keep you satisfied too.

All of the food is fresh and well presented. The best bit is that on a Sunday afternoon the menu is discounted by 20%.

Try it, you'll like it.

I completly agree with the review of Tess1.

It is really a nice place for Japanese food. I have been to Ichiban 4 times and I will go there again and again.

I have visited Ichiban on two occasions (both the Albany Road and the Cowbridge Road restaurants) and have been very impressed each time. The two restaurants are nicely decorated and the seating arrangement is comfortable. The menu is quite extensive, with a wide selection of sushi and cooked rice or noodle dishes. The food is superb; well presented, tasty and reasonably good value. The staff is friendly and the service efficient. I would recommend Ichiban to anyone, even (especially) if you've never tried Japanese food before!
