Reviews for Livingstones Coffee Shop
This coffee shop is a little gem tucked away in the Baptist Church, near the Arts Picturehouse. It has a very traditional feel to it and serves soup, sandwiches, baked potatoes and the usual tearoom fare such as scones, cakes and the most delicious toasted teacakes with lashings of butter. Food is wholesome, reaonable priced and home-made. The clientele is varied - it has a tranquil feel so is popular with shoppers looking for a respite from the bustle of town, but also provides admirably for young families with a play corner, high chairs and excellent baby changing facilities. If you don't enjoy the company of small children (bah) it's best to avoid Fridays around noon, when the splendid mother and toddler group run by the Baptist Church ends, and several families stay for lunch. The coffee shop also sells Fair Trade goods including jewellery, food, cards and gifts.
