We've been there on a few occasions and it has been a good experience every time.
The food doesn't appear in five minutes, it's true, but it does feel like it's actually been prepared for you, and sometimes you have to wait for that.

Never had a problem with staff being rude, though when it gets busy they can look a little harassed....

miserable landlady...rough looking...shame,pub is nice as is the landlord and food.

This is a lovely pub tucked away along the A327 (careful or you might drive straight past it!), in my experience it is a popular luchtime destination for those looking for a break from work. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The lunchtime menu has numerous options and the food is tasty, well cooked and quick to arrive. I can recommend the salmon. Inside, there is a good selection of beers and a cosy atmosphere. Outside there is a beer garden and parking. I would imagine that a large number of visitors would arrive by car so a few more parking spaces would probably be a good idea. I have made several visits here and will be going back many more times.
