Cerise Bistro Boutique Valentines Meal 17th February 2008

My husband and I went here on Valentines evening.
We were the first there for about half an hour, then another couple arrived. There was only four of us in the restaurant and another couple arrived after we left a couple of hours later. I was very surpirsed at how quiet it was as it is a beautiful venue, very comfortable and quite glamorous. The service was very good, we didn't have to wait long, we weren't cramped, but were checked up on enough.
The food was so tasty and not over or under done. It was healthy and cooked in the room next to us. The presentation was good and quantities were generous.
After a starter of baked pistachio and goats cheese salad ( which far exceeded my expectations) and a main of pan fried salmon steak, I had a chocolate nemesis, it was definately a nemesis, but I liked it far to much to leave any!
We payed £49.50 for the two of us, and we were given a beautiful sweet red rose.
They forgot to charge us for drinks.
What we didn't realise was it was a byo.

Can't wait to go back again.

I thoroughly recommend it.

Cerise Bistro/Boutique is a fabulous place to eat, drink and relax. the inviting environment is comfortable and stylish. It is glamorous in an unintimidating way.

Fresh, traditional food and delicacies are served throughout the day, from breakfast till dinner. It is real, simple, home cooked and sourced from local and organic businesses for high quality. There is a heartwarming range of main meals, gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads and not to forget their cakes and puddings.
A variety of premium hot and cold drinks are available, including an intriguing blossoming tea.

Soak in the unique, eclectically pretty surroundings in the boutique, and listen to relaxing music on sofas, chairs and a variety of tables or shop in the boutique there is a beautiful exciting selection of furniture and lighting, products, hand-made fashions and accessories which are available to buy.

Open 9am to 8pm Mon - Weds. 9am to 10pm Thurs - Sat. and 10am to 8pm Sunday

Save your time, but mainly your hard earned cash. I went last Saturday with a friend, a relatively quiet afternoon, and ordered two hot drinks, a bowl of chips and chicken pate. Told it would be half an hour wait as they were 'busy'. After five minutes, we were told they were out of chicken pate. We ordered a second bowl of chips instead. Drinks took quarter of an hour to appear. Meanwhile watched one waitress return to a table three times to tell customers that what they ordered was not available. A further 20 before a bowl of chips and a quiche arrived. Told our waiter that we ordered two bowls of chips, NOT a quiche. He took it away with an 'oh'. No mention of how long the second bowl would now be. 2nd bowl never arrived, so we went to pay. Absolutely stunned to be charged for two bowls of chips! We pointed out that we'd only had the one, and incredulously were told that there were two lots of chips in that one bowl! I queried a bowl of chips that cost £7.90, and the waitress passed the query on. But no… told that was what we had. No apology, no explanation. £12.95 for a bowl of chips, a coffee and a hot chocolate? = two very ripped off, plssed off customers who will be making sure none of their friends or acquaintances will set foot in Cerise ever again.

Lovely staff, eclectic furnishings and you never quite get the dish you ordered but I love it regardless
