Reviews for Bella Italia
Me and three friends had just finished bowling at the Venue and wanted somewhere scrummy to eat, and after much dlieberation we decided on Bella Italia.
It has a fairly nice warm cheesy Italian restaurant mood, it was a Saturday and it was very busy.
Appetisers we ordered garlic bread and they were really delicious, and the waitor was very friendly.
For our main I ordered the lasagne and my friends ordered pizzas and some carbonara. The food was not really that good, whenever I go to an Italian I always order a lasagne and this was probably the worst I ever tasted. It was very salty and didn't taste much better then a microwave meal. The best thing about my meal was the lemonade, it was Pellegrino's and it was scrummy, but in a tiny bottle, which meant I had to buy two to dilute the saltiness of my meal.
Everything is good, but the food was average. For the price paid £15 a head you could certainly do a lot better e.g. Zizzi's or any small family run Italian
When i first came here with some friends, i have to admit i wasn't expecting much from it. I thought it would be along the same lines as any other italian chain restaurant. How wrong i was! The food here is without doubt the best i have tasted outside of an authentic family run italian restaurant, possibly even better than some of those! I love their lasagne's and their pizza's are also crisp with loads of delicious toppings. However they have a good choice of dishes on the menu so all will be able to find something they like. Prices are also good for the quality and quantity you get
Ideally located next door to the Vue cinema, and just across the road from the main shopping centre at Cribbs Causeway (about a 10 minute walk).
Bella Italia is a well-known chain and so you wouldn't expect the food (mainly pizza & pasta) to be very authentic Italian. However this is much better then most others (e.g. Pizza Hut, Pizza Express).
The pizzas are a generous size and the base is just right - not too thick or thin. The toppings were excellent. I took my daughter and she really enjoyed her kids' pizza which they had made into a flower shape for her - it's these little touches which keep children happy so you can enjoy your meal. WE also tried a dessert which was too big for us to finish - always a good thing I think.
Overall I would recommend a visit here, especially as part of a night out at the cinema.
My children favorite restaurant, they love pizza and pasta. We came here to celebrate my Birthday on the day it was very busy. This is a bit small restaurant but lively. I had the chicken with bacon sauce, but could not see nay bacon, so the waiter willingly brought some extra bacon for me on a separate plate, without any problem. We had the fresh juices and smoothies which we delicious! There was quite few teenagers , girl in little groups having their lunch. I expect it's easy to drop them off for lunch and then go to the vue cinema , which is right next to it. The food is not spectacular, but the usual convenience of it and experience of going out for my children was really nice. Not very expensive for dinning.
