Reviews for Asda Stores
This Asda store is very conveniently located, close to the centre of Bristol. It is very well served by bus routes and there is a huge car park at the rear.
Although the store itself is not huge, it is big enough to make it a destination food store where you can either stock up on some essentials when you think of them, or where you can do your weekly shop.
This store has a good size clothing section with some true bargains. Other non-food items vary a bit but often include useful and household items, instead of some of the useless rubbish that some food stores now clutter themselves up with.
You will find the usual range of food, a decent size fresh counter and a reasonable fruit & veg selection (but be very careful here, especially if you enjoy apples or would prefer to have your fruit not too badly bruised....)
Outside the main supermarket section is a row of smaller 'service' units for dry-cleaning, photo printing, music and dvds.
The entrance from East Street is marred by an ugly, smelly MuckDonalds. It's not exactly out of place, as so many Asda customers seem to be stopping off here for a 'meal' or snack, but it's not exactly pretty.
When Wallmart took over Asda I was hoping (and praying!!) that at last we would have a super cheap major supermarket in the UK just like Wallmart is in the USA.
But alas we live on treasure island (most call it the UK) where prices are always high.
But that said, Asda do still have some pretty good prices on the items they sell, particularly on some of their own brand items.
You often see the Asda averts on the TV quoting how many more prices they have lowered in comparison to Tesco and Morrison. And in my opinion those claims seem to ring true.
This is one of the larger stores of the chain so is fully featured inside with a pharmacy, photographic section, home electrical department and clothing areas.
Looking at their fresh items (fruit, veg and meat) the quality always seems to be good and in my opinion arguably better than their main rivals.
This is a large Asda store and is brilliant! There are always lots of bargains to be had and as with all Asda stores nowadays they dont just sell food and groceries. Excellent clothing department featuring George clothes and electrical and homeware items too as well as photo section and pharmacy! Everything you need really is all under one roof! They have recently introduced self service chekouts which were a bit daunting at first but there are normally staff on hand to help out and its quite fun for the kids to play at scanning the weekly shop!
Asda now also have petrol stations which i have found to be the cheapest around so you can even fill up when you shop.
I must say I do love ASDA, I tend to do most of my shopping here and often pop over to Morrisons to see what offers there is!
ASDA is well known for being the cheapest of the main supermarkets and I must admit that I agree. I often spend less in ASDA and get so much more.
ASDA now has added electronic self serve tills to my local store allowing you to scan your own shopping, great fun!! lol
Asda not only sell groceries but sell electronics, cd's, books, clothes, and I could go on forever.
Recently ASDA have started to put more things on offer, it had previously simply aimed at customers by being the cheapest but now have offers such as 2 for 1. Keep an eye out as you can get some brilliant bargains on roll back!
Most asda stores now sell petrol too, which you can pay at the pump - great for if you have a baby with you that you don't want to leave alone.
Overall I love ASDA, shame they don't do BOGOF items though!!
