I would not go anywhere near this gym. Having been a member there for nearly a year I am nothing more than disgusted with the way the facility is ran. My main sport is swimming and is something that I take very seriously with starting to complete in triathalons this year. The management of the pool is abismal. For nearly two months the speed clock was out of action. The pool has sand or dirt of some form at the bottom of the pool constantly. On many occasions and this is due to the poor management of the swimming lanes, I have had my training sessions interupted with people being forced into the fast lane due to the closure of the slow lane in order to accommodate other activities. This in principle I have no problem with. However it contstantly got to the point that we were effectively told that I should swim at another time or better yet 'slow down and not tumble turn'. This is totally unacceptable. Having trained hard for many months and getting my times up I am now told by a health club that purports to support all sports and takes them seriously, that I should curtail how I train. In the end a letter was draughted to the management team stating that we would no longer be continuing our membership due to the contractual failure on the part of David Lloyd to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which to train but also their proposed reduction and use of the pool facility. We alos advised that due to this breach of contract on thier part we would not be making the payments for the so called 3 month cancellation period. Now and in classic David Lloyd style we are being chased by debt collectors and non of the management will accept either responsibility in their part in all of this nor will they accept our calls or be prepared to discuss the issues with us. They didn't even have the common maners to advise us that they would be contacting a collections agency.
Thus to finish. If you are looking for a club that takes sports seriously and are genuinly interested in sports and the development of it's members DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS CLUB.
