Reviews for ASK
At Ask what you get is nice comfortable surroundings and a combination of friendly service and tasty food. You can sit inside or if its fine , then outside is cooler. They do have patio heaters if you want to be outside on a cooler day too.
The starters include cute crostini and bruschetta, a selection of salads, choice of pasta and some oven baked pasta dishes too. It is more costly than many of the local italians that we have in brighton but you have to try new restaurants other wise it just becomes boring and you get stuck in a rut and never go any where new. The pizza here is ok, have had better, but not the worst that I have tasted by any means and it is worth a visit if you are out and about near ship street.
Went down to Brighton last week and we ended up at Ask. From the outside it looks very small but once inside it has two rooms. ONe small room for people in groups in two and three and then they have a larger room which is more spacious. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. They also had a really nice seating area outside at the back of the large room. As it was a beautiful sunny day we sat outside. It was very relaxing.
The meal was lovely, i wanted to order the Salmon Ravioli but it came with a white wine sauce. The waiter was so lovely he hask the chef if it would be possible to replace the white wine sauce with something else. He used a cream based sauce instead which was so lovely. I was very suprised that they were willing to adapt the meal to suit my requirements, maybe all resturants do this and i have never had the courage to ask but with the friendly staff it was easy to ask.
I would love to try the Ask in Kew and see if their service is just as good.
I went to eat at ask ASK in Brighton yesterday and I LOVED it. The outside seating area in the garden is a real plus and the outdoor heaters allow you to sit outside till late at night. The food was amazing and the staff extremely friendly and welcoming. I cannot wait to go again! Highly recommended!!!!
I have visited this place twice, the second time to give it the benefit of the doubt. It is a nice place, with good ambience and a really nice feel to it. PLanty of room and a nice garden area in the summer. But, whilst the pizzas are OK, the rest of the food is rather lacklustre. You could get the same quality nearby in a cheap, less pretentious place, like Donatello's, and at half the price. I wouldn't bother again.
