Bit over-priced to eat in 5th May 2009

I've been on the search for a decent local Chinese takeaway for some time and of the ones I've tried so far, this one is winner.

We had a takeaway for 2 which we ordered in the restaurant and picked up only 10mins later. Although I was concerned how quickly it was prepared (and how empty the restaurant was), it was all really excellent.
The quarter duck was extremely generous and the meat was tender with lovely crispy bits. Enough for 3 to share as a starter (6 full pancakes worth). Both main dishes were delicious, black bean chicken and chicken and cashewnuts in yellowbean sauce. The chicken was nicely cooked with absolutely no 'icky' bits and there was plenty of it with a nice balance of meat to veg components such as carrot, peppers etc. The yellowbean sauce although sticky and thick wasn't too sweet and the blackbean sauce wasn't swimming in garlic (like it does at the Shanghai Garden takeaway on George Street).

One bad point, if you have any food allergies/intolerances don't trust them when they assure you that a dish doesn't contain something! We were told the blackbean chicken definitely did not contain onion and then it came full of it! :S

Still, would use again as the food was great.

EDIT: Ate in recently with family and 2 out of 5 dishes were a bit disappointing (I remember lemon chicken was one) and overall more expensive than it should've been. The decor could at least've been nice and the plates not chipped at that price! I'll still go there in the future but just to order takeaway, and only the dishes I know are good!
