My friend stayed here recently and said that it was wonderful. It is always difficult to know where to recommend when friends come to town but this is a diamond. The owners are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The standard of the rooms is so good. Ther are all themed and having seen my friends room I must say that for brighton they are very good in deed. The hotel is in the kemptown area and is close to a nice array of shops etc. The place has a good community feel and people here are very relaxed. Just cross across form the main busy part of brighton town centre. It has a well thought out feel to it and would reccomend it to you all.

    My favorite hotel

The Royal Pavilion Townhouse is a really special place. It's quite small, with only 8 rooms, but that seems to allow the staff to concentrate on brilliant service for the guests that they do have - I have genuinely never seen such good service in any other hotel. I don't know how the owners manage to make their employees care so much about their work, but I do know that whatever it is, it works.
Each room has a different theme, the Chinese Dragon room being the most ostentatious, the Chinoise being the prettiest, Camera Valencia being the most stylish and the tiny but lovely Beach Cove being my favourite. There's something beautifully quirky about the whole place, but not in a hipper-than-thou, cutesy way, (something you can find quite a bit in Brighton). The rooms seem like they've been designed by a non-professional designer but with real flare and imagination. The effect is both winning and rather unique, something you don't often find with hotels. The four largest rooms have big en suite bathrooms with jacuzzis and the beds in every room I've stayed in wonderfully comfortable, you seem to keep sinking into the mattress for about 5 minutes after you climb in.
The breakfast in bed is awesome and they do a really fantastic eggs florentine. The food is a little pricey, but worth every penny. There's simply nothing they've missed out.

I have had the immense pleasure of staying at this gorgeous boutique hotel in the heart of kemptown. My mum got my husband and I 2 nights here as a wedding present and it really was luxury. Stunning themed bedrooms with breakfast in bed - the works - mini bar, full extras like hairdryers etc. Breathtakingly beautful and the guys who run it were VERY friendly and conscientous. Would love to stay again one day - could not fault it. For people unfamiliar with brighton, kemptown is considered the 'gay' area, so please do not stay at this hotel if you are going to make people feel uncomfortable with conservative or bigoted attitudes. It's a really friendly community and all the shops and restaurants nearby are fab.
