Rusticity
I like the high ceilings in this cafe which give you a nice spacious feeling. The shop window is an old-fashioned bay window and the tables are the kind that you'd find in a farmhouse kitchen. Friendly hand painted signs of wiggly fish lead you down to the loo which you get to by walking through a tiny tropical themed courtyard (see photo - I remembered my camera this time!).
The coffee comes in one of those little glasses with a metal handle. It was top notch with just a tiny bit of coffee coloured foam at the top. My friend who is a slim as a slim thing had a whopping beans, sausage, bacon and hash browns breakfast with eggs on top. She didn't talk for a while. Meanwhile, her partner who's been shifting lumps of stone for a living, minced through a couple of slices of toast!
Ooh if only Brighton could be on my doorstep every breakfast time.
