Choccywoccydoodah is a heaven-sent godsend for chocolate lovers. Boasting a patisserie, this confectionery breathes the very essence of chocolate. Cakes, Belgian truffles, plain and milk chocolate - it's all there and the chaise longue provides the ideal resting companion to indulge in heavens chocolate dream.

Reviews for Choccywoccydoodah Bar Du Chocolat

On a recent day trip to Brighton my first priority was a visit to Choccywoccydoodah Bar du Chocolat. Hidden away on a back street, it was indeed worth seeking out. It has colourful, glamorous décor, and serves up giant serves of chocolate cake, sundaes and other decadent treats. You can hire their "intimate boudoir" for a "extravagant chocolate feast", which sounds ideal for a girlie afternoon tea.

I was fairly restrained with my food choice, opting for a slice of Chocolate Truffle cake, which turned out to be massive, and was served with a big scoop of chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was Choccywoccydoodah-delicious!

I knew a chocoholic like you would love this but I blame cwdd (can't be bothered to type it!) on my liking chocolate less than I used to. We had a birthday cake made by them and it was the sickliest thing I have ever eaten. I think I over-chocco-dosed on just the slice I had. So chocolate likers (not lovers) beware - go easy or in the words of Zammo "just say no!"

Now my wife has read this, the conversation is going something like the following ; "where is that" "don't know" "googlemap it" "parking looks awkward" "we'll go by train for a day out" I hate going into Brighton but.........exceptions will be made for this.

At the bar du chocolat you and your friends can relax with a sumptous hot chocolate, made from dark belgian chocolate for £3.50, or treat your self with a mouth wateringly gorgeous ice cream milkshake form £3, You can have a slice of their famous chocolate cake for around £4, which is nice. The yummy chocolate dipping pots come as milk, white or plain chocolate and have a selection of strawberries, marshmallows, turkish delight, fudge, chili etc and are very nice also. The decor is over the top and fantastic and we have enjoyed the experience, did not see any mice and would be unhappy if we thought they re packed happy shopper chocolates. It is a bit pricey but we don not go every day.

I was a bit shocked by the last review saying they were infested by all manner of things - made me think twice about putting a review. However i can only be honest and i don't know anything about what the previous review say. Neither did i see any evidence of that. If there was an infestation, surely you would see some sign?!

Anyway, i found it to be chocolate heaven, or hell, whichever route you prefer to take!

Tastes were fabulous with a price tag to match!

However i would certainly go back and sample some other chocolately goodness, and will be keeping a close eye out for anything else!

Wow...

Wow...

YUM!!!

A *massive* slab of cake (3 of us, and we still took some home!), delicious coffee, quirky decor...

The best place in brighton for an afternoon coffee and cake session!

damn, those cakes sure do look amazing,i bet this is a place fit for any chocoholic,my step mum went in there and brought me back some of these white chocolate cannonball things, they were very nice.

Tucked away in a little corner is this fantastic chocolate shopped with a brilliant name: Choccywoccydoodah bar du chocolat. I was attracted by their extravagant chocolate sculptures window display.

There's a ready-gifts location on Duke Street for those who can't think of anything to buy the last minute or you want to give your special someone a decadent indulging treat! ;)

They actually do call it a boudoir cos I just had a look on their website! "Our intimate boudoir will be yours for two delicious hours of sheer dacadent self indulgence." For 200 quid! I imagine that the curtains close but then what?! It sounds very depraved. Apparently it's "not suitable for parties under 13 years old" what on earth do they get up to?

Anyway, they have a menu with things like chocolate dipping pots; mocha - pure belgian chocolate stirred into milk with a double espresso shot; and cakes served with fruit coulis.

It's terrifically arty - they hire sculptors, fashion designers and chocolate florists to conjure up magnificent cakes. There's a very strong house style that's rococco but not too cherubic. Absolutely unique. Check out the bull dog sponge cake and mexican skull cake in the picture.

Lucky, lucky, lucky me, I've got some orange milk chocolate in the freezer waiting for me right now! Only need to close the curtains.
