Reviews for Pokeno Pies
A friend of mine swears by these pies as the key to enjoyment when eating out and as you walk by they do smell divine. The pokeno pies shop is always busy and is quite small but is very, very popular. The pies vary from meat filled varieties to vegetarian options and are usually very tasty. You can choose to have your pie with mash and peas or with salad, either goes well together.I tried their moroccan aubergine and feta pie which was absolutely fantastic. You can also buy them to take away in either cooked or frozen form which is a great idea
I have never been to a pie and mash shop before so this was a bit of an eye opener! I'm glad i went here, because it was a fantastic start!
I'm not saying it was perfect because it wasn't. I thin i expected something along the quality that yuo get in a fish and chip shop, but luckily, the quality and quantity of food served at Pokeno Pies was far superior.
Have to say the venue was quite small, although not unexpected in this area of brighton, so i did feel a bit cramped as they were really busy.
prices were great so i'd thoroughly recommend them!
Great tasting, wholesome Pie 'n Mash. Pastry not too thick and not greasy and the filling oozed quality. Mash was light and fluffy. Veggie option and veggie gravy. Didn't feel I was eating an unhealthy meal.
Bit cramped though but well presented. Friendly service.
Value for money.
