We have been to Armytages several times in the last few months. The food is fairly basic but very nice and not too expensive. They offer an extensive menu including 3 sorts of steak, Ribeye, Sirloin and Rump with various additions. They have an extensive choice of other items such as scampi, chicken, prawns and Tipsy Pie. The sweets are also a treat especially the Fudge Mountain. You need to get there early on a Weekend to get a table as they fill up fast and there can be up to an hours wait for food due to the popularity of the place

The Armytage Arms is a Mitchell and Butlers public house. After being rebranded it has been modernised and redecorated to a decent standard.
Bright and cheerful inside, there is a nice feel about the place.
Service at the bar was swift, there is a wide selection of draught and bottles beers and lagers available. The staff were friendly and polite.
Food is available to eat in the restaurant part or outside in the ample exterior seating area. The food was ordered and brought out quickly. Hot, fresh and tasty food, well presented and of decent quality.
A pool table is available, as is a cash machine in case you forget your wallet.
Plenty of car parking here. Well worth a visit !
