Reviews for Metro Bar & Grill
I hadn't been to Metro for some time (we used to go alot before we had children), but I was glad to see that it had lost none of its glam decor and atmosphere. We went on a Friday night and it was reasonably quite in the restaurant in these credit-crunching times, but it still felt worth getting dressed up for. They serve several different kinds of champagne by the glass and the booth tables are just great. They have an excellent menu where if you choose selected dishes it's only £14.50 for two courses, or £17.50 for three. The food was lovely - my only criticiam was that you had to pay for bread. I just think this is unacceptable in a restaurant of this calibre - especially when one of the party is having soup. I was however, particularly impressed by the 'taster size dessert with coffee'. It was a more than ample portion after a substantial meal and made a refreshing change - a case of having one's cake and eating it. The service was attentive without being overbearing. A great night in swish surroundings, substantiated by good food.
