Shangri-La

Reviews for Shangri-La

One of the first to open as a Sichuan restaurant in Birmingham.

They do rather easy-going Sichuan food, not as hard core as Red & Hot restaurant. I have been to this place three times over a year, and have always eaten decently well never paying much more than £10 a head.

Service is friendly and prompt. The manager is always around and seeing over the operation.

One word of caution is about their menus. They have two menus: one is Sichuan, written in English and in Chinese, and the other so-called 'Cantonese' written only in English. Forget about Cantonese menu and go for the Sichuan one! It is written also in English, so there is no reason to be afraid. (If the Cantonese is what you want, just go to Chung Ying Garden, which IS Cantonese restaurant).

Interior is spacious and elegant. Often lively with young Chinese customers.
