Edgbaston St, Birmingham, B5 4QL

The first Wagamama noodle bar opened in 1992, near the British Museum in Central London, and was immediately a success. With several noodle bars in London and now nationwide, Wagamama offers a fast efficient service in a clean and modern environment.

Reviews for Wagamama

Situated at the back of the Bullring, Wagamama’s is a great place to go for a quick re-fuel during a day’s shopping or a pre-concert or cinema bite to eat. The service is good and very fast(though the restaurant can get very busy I seem to only have been at off-peak times!), and the food really tasty and a lot healthier than any other ‘fast food’ place. The restaurant is utilitarian, with wooden benches for communal eating, and food is brought to you as soon as it’s ready, which can mean you’ve nearly finished your dinner before your friends start theirs! My personal favourite is the ginger chicken udon, but having sampled several dishes, it’s all good stuff and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

In a prime location, right next to the Bullring, it is a great place to stop for lunch.
It's always relatively busy due to the price of its food, and its relatively fast service. You can expect to pay no more than £10 for a good meal.
The portions are decent sized, and tasty, but the menu is hard to understand, especially for a newbie!
You sit on long benches in the restaurant, often next to people that you don't know. Instead of this being awkward, it creates a very relaxed, calm atmosphere to the place, despite the waiters frantically rushing around!

The food at Wagamama is great and inexpensive considering the vast quantity they serve you. Unfortunately though, I'm not one for crowds and do enjoy a little privacy when eating, i.e. preferably a table to myself and my friends. In the evening the place is packed and there's not enough room to move but on the plus side, it does show just how good the food is!

The view of the rag markets leaves much to be desired but is very iconic of Birmingham!

You have plenty of parking opposite above the markets but this can get quite pricy depending on how long you stay. Again though, it depends on your viepoint. I find it expensive as a local, but as a tourist in a huge city it is probably not as bad as some places.

Wagamamas is a lovely place to vist for healthy nourishing Japanese cuisine at it's best.
The Birmingham Branch is usually very busy so you might have to queue for a table but it is well worth the wait.
The menu consists of side dishes, main meals and desserts & there is a great vegetarian selection of dishes aswell as healthy Childrens meals.
I usually order the delicious yasai gyoza which are delicious morish vegetable dumplings served
with a sweet ginger sauce & saien soba Vegetarian noodles dish which is so yummy you would want to order more.
There are also rice based dishes & a yummy range of deserts and drinks.
The place is a lovely atmosphere even though it is busy the service is great and the staff are always helpful & friendly.
Moneywise the prices are not dirt cheap but for the quality of the food it is worth paying that little bit extra.
10/10 from me.

Wagamama in Birmingham is not different from other branches in the UK and the menu is also the same one. This is not a bad thing it is just as Wagamama works.

The best times to get in is probably before 7pm and after 9pm. In between these times the restaurant gets very crowded and you're often asked to queue for some 10 minutes at the entrance (inside!).
As soon as a seat gets free you're lead to your table, asked if you've been there before in order to let you know how wagamama works and seated.

People do seat one in front of the other and you'll probably be adjacent to other customers sharing the same table. You can choose in the menu which can be viewed online at wagamama.com and a specials menu card which is the only one varying from time to time.

In my opinion they should review more often the menu as people get tired of the same things.

Don't forget to go on www.wagamama.com and register on the members area to get vouchers to get some of the offers like 2 for 1 or free side dish/dessert.

Wagamamas gets very busy, and you may find yourself queuing for up to twenty minutes. In my experience, the best time to go is before 7, as you just miss the crowds but its still late enough for dinner. The seating is very informal and you may well find yourself sat on a bench close to your neighbour, whether you know them or not!

The food is well worth it though, and the service is fast and friendly. My stable choice is the Yaki Soba - strongly flavoured noodles with pork, shrimps, vegetables and shredded ginger - lovely, especially with far too much soy sauce! I have also recently fallen in love with ebi gyoza - prawn, spinach and water chestnut filled dumplings with an amazing dipping sauce, just scrummy!

Make sure you sign up to the on the Wagamama website - www.wagamama.com - as you can often get vouchers, including buy one get one free on main courses which really helps.
