Reviews for Jongleurs

We attended this venue on sat 17th october for my brothers 25th birthday.
upon booking we purchased side seats and a birthday package, which was to include a decorated table a funny hat a t-shirt, a cake and a shout out from the compare.

firstly the side seats were terrible! we were stuck in the corner almost like being behind the stage. 3 of the 6 seats were restricted view.

and considering it was a birthday the placement was a disgrace.

we went to the bar to order drinks and waited for 35 mins to be served with no-one at the bar due to the staff completing pre ordered drinks.

we waited nearly 1 hour before one of the waitresses came to the table to take our food order.

we ordered food for 4 of the 6 and only 3 meals arrived when questioned the waiter told me he would go and sort it he never came back.
so i went looking for another member of staff, after another 15 mins she came back and told me i had not order this other meal and if i wanted it i would need to order it and pay.

as for this so called "birthday package" more like a birthday let down!!!!!

Firstly: decorated table????? they placed a paper table cloth and 4 ballons on 4 of the chairs!
secondly: the hat and t-shirt did not arrive untill the interval when 4 of our 6 party had left to go to the toilet etc
Thirdly: the t-shirt was for a stag do as they had mixed up 2 of the parties orders and they did nothing, they took the t-shirt away and never returned with the birthday 1!!!!!
Fourthly: the cake arrived with no plates and no cutlery.
Fithly: the shout out from the compare??? at the very end of the show he did a shout of to each of the parties there, for our group it was happy 25th to alex WHOOOOO!!

Disgraceful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mother went to find the manager to complain, and was confronted with poor attitude and no response. nothing was done about any of this apart from a pathetic appologie!

And all of this was going on through out the entire show so of course we didnt get settled, really get to listen to any of the comedians or enjoy our night.

not one of us laughed all night or had a good time. it was the worst birthday event ever i felt terrible having organised this as his birthday night out.

as for the venue and seating well......

the venue is dirty dingy and felt like a school canteen.

the seating arrangement meant that not 1 person in the venue faced the stage as the were in lines like a school canteen.

i would not have choosen to sit in any of the seat in the venue if given the choice again!

o and to top it off during the show while we were complaining to one of the staff (which time i cant remember there was so much to complain about)
another member of staff told our table to shut up as there was no speaking during the show!!!

what a laugh!!

i would never recommend this venue to anyone and my review is honest and accurate i have never been so angry and disapointed.

if you want to go to a good comedy club go the the glee club it put this place to shame!!

SHAME ON YOU JONGLEURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have complained to the management and will be expecting a full refund for the night!!!!!

Having been a regular at Birminghams Glee club for many years i thought i would give this comedy chain a tryout. i went with four friends one of whom was pregnant. i pre-ordered food and drink online and asked for a seating close to the toilets when i booked. When we were shown to our table it was at the very front not suitable at all for someone who was pregnant. i asked if we could change no one came back for 10 mins i had to find the manager. a table at the back was eventualy found but we didn't recieve our pre-booked drinks for 40 mins and our pre-booked food took over an hour and a half to arrive. when it did it was lukewarm and very greasy. The venue is dirty (looks like a rundown student union). The comedy was ok but sound system is flaky. Quite a lot of leery hens and stags that were never told to shut up!
its definatly cheaper than our very own glee club and it shows. i dont think any of us will be going back anytime soon.

If you're looking for something different for your evening's entertainment, look no further.
With fantastic comedians, and a reasonably priced menu, you're set for a fantastic night of laughs.
Drinks prices are equally reasonable, and you can either have waiter service, or go to the bar.
The comedians range from amateur to professional, and the first act is often relatively rubbish, but it's worth it for the 2nd and 3rd act. I have never laughed so much at a comedy night, as i did here. Excellent.

This is a fantastic option for an alternative night out; perhaps a staff do, or birthday celebration. It's a refreshing change for most, who wouldn't think of spending an evening watching relatively unknown comedians perform. However, it usually pays back in dividends. I've been a couple of times now, and both times the comedians have (largely) failed to disappoint. They seem to provide different styles of comedian to cater for for the audience's varying tastes - you will hear around 3 comedians regail their stories.

It's worth the money, and you can complete the night strutting your stuff on the dancefloor as it opens up its club after the show. Fantastic night out; who could ask for more?

Have been to Jongleurs a couple of times now, both on the student nights (Thursdays - £1 entry, which gets you into the comedy club and then into Jongleurs club later on). Both times, the quality of the acts has been brilliant, really funny. The second time, we also ordered some food, which you can order from the waitress and pay them, and then they bring it. We had a tower thing, with lotsa different snacky things on, and it was really nice.

The good thing about it is you can make it however big a night you want to - if you just want comedy you can leave after the show, but if you want a night out, you also get entry to the club.

Only bit of advice - don't sit at the front.....!
