    Predictable, but not bad for a cheap night out!

    Situated right in the centre of Birmingham, on Broad street, impressive drinks offers allow you go get away with your bank balance intact, but the music leaves much to be desired. It is predictable, and often plays the same song less than an hour later. If you're looking for something a bit different, this is certainly not the place for you.. but if you want a casual, cheap place to go, either for the night, or as a pre-bar, then it doesn't get much better.
    There is also a karaoke night, which is fun.

    Warm atmosphere

    Oh! Velvet is a good standard for a bar on Broad St. It is an odd shape, and there is not a great amount of room, but what is provided is of a good quality. There are also pool tables to pass the time during the day. Located, as it is, on Broad St, it gets its fair share of rowdy drunks at the weekend, and some weeknights more than others - predominantly student nights. If you head to broad street though, this is what you can expect so this doesn't necessarily take anything away from the atmosphere, which is friendly and warm. Go there of a Monday evening and you'll be in for some karaoke fun - there can be some real shockers, from the surprisingly good to the extremely bad, but it's all in the name of fun. Drinks are not too expensive and there are a selection of cocktails that are relatively cheap.
