Popped into the Gosta last week and there was a live band The Benwahs on doing an acoustic set. Checked them out on myspace and they're not half bad. They are back playing at Gosta Saturday 28th so will defo be there.

Student bar - but still interesting 26th August 2008

Situated just across the road from Aston University and a UCE art campus, this bar is usually full of students, especially on student nights during the week. However, the drinks are reasonably priced, the facilities are good (big screens, pool tables, comfy sofas and a table football game!) and the staff are friendly. They also serve food for a reasonable price, and this is usually of a high standard.

The pub undergoes a facelift pretty much every year, and at the moment has some dubious window coverings, but it does look good and the annual reinvention helps to keep it feeling fresh 'n' funky!

The cocktails can be highly recommended for their alcohol content and there is a good range. I like this bar for pre-going out drinks, or just for a catch-up with your mates.
