Reviews for Villa Park
This is quite simply (in my arrogant opinion anyway) the bestest, and greatest stadium in the football world. Many a great experience I've had here. I simply cant say enough good words about whats it like being here. The atmosphere, especially in the Holte end is second to none. This is a crowd that always has, and always will get well and truly behind their/our Villa. Its been a while since I came, simply because of the financial reasons behind it. Going to see Premier League football isn't cheap anymore, but thats the price you have to pay. I do try to come a few times a year though because it is so good, especially when the Villa are doing well, just like now.
Villa Park is absolutely steeped in history, and any renovations have been done sympathetically and in keeping with this. Standing opposite Aston Park, it occupies a large area of Witton alongside the Holte Pub and the Villa Village. The stadium is a spectacular sight at night with the newly added signs, and is easily accessible via bus and train. Inside the ground, the capacity is currently around 43,000. The noise usually starts in the Holte End, but this is now echoed in the North Stand, which has more recently been given to the home fans. Away fans have the pleasure of sitting in the Doug Ellis stand, and the family area, press and directors get to sit amongst more home fans in the Trinity road stand. The food at Villa Park is well known for being amongst the best in the Premiership, and the Cornerflag Restaurant is simply exquisite. You don't have to be a Villa fan to eat there, but with the fantastic view over the pitch, I guess it helps.
Great and friendly atmosphere at every game, You def need to sit in the holte end, lots of pubs nearby.
brilliant
This stadium has seen many legends past and present grace its hallowed turf. A place where 'total' football is played week in week out. At the Holte End you get to sing along with some of the funniest supporters in the whole of the UK. The food there is also of the highest standard with the famous 'balti pie' available within the ground. Nearby there is a number of pubs, typically we go to the scream bar on the UCE campus before a game, which is good value.
Interesting fact 1: the pitch is 115 x 72 yards
Interesting fact 2: We've won the European Cup..Chelsea HAVEN'T!!
