Reviews for The Water Margin
Going to a Chinese Restaurant for a meal is something that never really appeals or excites me. I would prefer to get a Chinese take away. However this all changed when I went to The Water Margin.
My girlfriend & I have been here on a few occasions and is a favourite place of ours when we go out for a meal and it never disappoints.
The restaurant itself is situated in an old church and when you walk in the decor is very traditional (Chinese style of course!). There is also a fish pond with a small waterfall trickling into it, which is worth a look if you have never been before (a great hit with the kids!).
The staff are very friendly, polite and smartly dressed which creates a great first impression (their English is also very good!).
The menu is very extensive with a wide variety of meals to choose from. I personally would recommend the Crispy Noodles with Beef in Black Bean Sauce (the meat is so tender!). However we have noticed from previous visits that the food presentation (with the Starters) is not as good as it used to be, but this is only a minor point.
As for the price, there are dearer Chinese restaurants to go to in Greater Belfast. The Water Margin's price is worth paying as the portions you get are more than plentiful.
So what can I say in a nutshell? (or should that be Fortune Cookie!)........The Water Margin delivers for great food, surroundings and service and we will look forward to our next visit (which shouldn't be too long!).
