Anyone students/young persons living in belfast have at least once ventured into the trimvurate of bars that is Spring & Airbrake/Limelight/Katy Dalys. Katys is nice to sit and have a pint during the day but at night its generally busy and you wont be able to get a seat. Spring & Airbrake is superb for gigs, and the limelight is where your always going to meet someone you know. For anyone age 16-21, this is where you have to be on a tuesday night. If you queue after 10pm you wont get in; costs you £3 to allow you access to all three bars and bottles of beer and a vodka cost only £1.50. Dj's in both spring and airbrake and the limelight are second to none!

I really love Katy Dalys! I may be biased though as i met my boyfriend here :) A great pub only about 10 minutes from the main shopping area. As soon as you go inside, you get a real comfortable homey feeling! Lots of music and entertainment on most nights. Lovely old style quirky decorating. Small wooden tables & stools with lots of quirky pieces decorating the walls. Reasonably priced & the food at lunchtime is usually gorgeous & really filling! A favourite with the younger crowd of twenty somethings. The perfect place to go for a cool beer after work on a friday! Seats available to sit outside & take advantage of those long hot summer days! the perfect night or day out!

Katy Daly’s pub is situated on Ormeau Avenue, about 4 or 5 minutes walk from the Europa bus station or Belfast City Hall. It’s a very homely pub, and has managed to escape the ravages of modernization, retaining a welcoming, family atmosphere. There is entertainment every night, ranging from the famous monday night alternative table quiz, with the rudest questions and several booby prizes, through the singer/songwriter sessions, to the saturday afternoon RocKD session, featuring the latest upcoming local and international bands. The clientele is mostly indie / alternative / rock, and mostly in their mid-twenties to early thirties. Bar staff are chatty and friendly, and there is some top notch pub grub served during the daytime, catering to the business and family crowd. All in all, this is my favourite pub in Belfast, and it’s a place a visitor will always feel at home in.
