The Cross Keys is providing a 99p menu at the moment, I would recommend anyone who wants decent, home-cooked food to go there.

the food was cheap but now has gone up wiv the beer past what is worth it and if u need the toilet walk home cuz they are s**t
the oak is far away from where i live but i will go there instead of this place

This place has become really nice since being taken over recently. The staff are very friendly and helpful, prices are excellent and the home made food really is home made. I was in there for my son's birthday. Altogether there were 3 adults and 3 children of varying ages. We all enjoyed ourselves, the meals were excellent value and we would highly recommend this place for a quiet family meal. There is also the newly built play area out the back which my toddler loves. It's only a shame that there is nothing under cover so we have to rely on the weather to play in it!

I visited the Cross Keys yesterday (18/06/08), we went for my nephews birthday, there were six of us in all, consisting of three adults, one 15 year old, one 8 year old and one 3 year old. The pub catered well to all of our tastes. We all had a meal each, the meals were lovely and reasonably priced. (I didn't really like the peas though). We then had a desert, we all had sundaes, they were all lovely too. I believe that almost all the food is home made, it certainly tastes that way. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. The atmosphere was lovely. Unfortunately we couldn't use the new play area as it was raining, besides that we had a wonderful time.

on arriving we noticed several people outside wearing biker jackets and smoking right out side the front entrance. There was 7 huge motor bikes and 7 4X4's (frequent occurrence according to local Mick)
It is advertised as a family pub but its more a local come bikers stop off.
There was plenty of early just left work looking drinking all louder than the person they were drinking with.
We were total ignored for 10 minutes and took the chance to go the toilet which were smelly and worse than some public toilets i have unfortunately have had the pleasure of using in the past.
The side entrance was stocked with smokers all trying to stay out the rain as the front smoking den right next to the front door was already full. More people were outside smoking than inside drinking.
At the bar i was given two drinks both in dirty glasses one had lipstick on the rim.
The food we ordered was cheap but showed why it was cheap. it was far below any standard i could compare it with. A new play area was being built while we were visiting and on passing since i would say it was more like a place to send your kids if you never wanted to see them again. The pub seems to attract bikers and 4X4 drivers . A few heated conversations were to be heard and swearing from the smokers outside. Not family suitable in any way unless you want your children's teacher calling you in asking why you child has said what they did.
i would say visit it if you want a cheap pint with even cheaper food but not with children or your mum and dad .
This is not a run of the mill bar food pub that suits a family meal out as its falls way below the standard of nearly every pub i have visited in the Bedworth area .
If your a biker or fancy a drink on your way home from the building site or farm then yes this is ideal . Its cheap food and cheap drink are best avoided if you have a young family.
Avoid at all costs.
