Reviews for Moon & Sixpence
Came for lunch with a party. The service was friendly but slipshod, the food was certainly not worth the amount being charged and the automatic addition of 12%(!) as a service charge rather insulting. To say the decor is eclectic is a kind way of putting it, it just feels, like the restaurant, amateurish. Perhaps they don't really try at lunchtimes.
Very good food, good service and a nice atmosphere. We found the food to be a bit rich but otherwise we cannot complain.
It's still being refurbished but thankfully this is mostly the toilets. It is expensive though. The three of us paid £127 for a three course meal (one of us only had two courses). Desserts were £6.50 each and two glasses of wine cost £18.
One for a special occasion! Recommended.
If you're looking for a restaurant with a bit more 'class' than your typical chain restaurant, the Moon and Sixpence is the place for you.
Perfect for dates, special occasions, or just as a random treat for you and a friend, the restaurant is friendly, professional, and very yummy!
The courtyard looks lovely but I've only ever visited the restaurant in the Winter so am not sure if you can sit out there. If you can, I would highly recommend it as the whole Milsoms development has a relaxed atmosphere.
Been here a few times and each time it's been excellent. Great location in the centre of town and in a lovely old building with a courtyard. The food has always been spot on and this, combined with the interior and setting, has always made it an old favourate of mine. It's been closed for refurbishment and redevelopment of the surrounding buildings for a while. I hope it doesn't lose any of it's charm in the process.
