If you desperately need a Costa coffee instead of any other type then avoid the mainstream place and go to the outlet in Waterstones. You can pretty much always find a seat, even at peak lunchtime, and it much cleaner and nicer. The service (although still on the slow side) is infinitely quicker here, also they seem to have more choice of food and snacks probably as they have fewer visitors. You can grab a table in the window and watch the world go by on Milsom Street and chat away the hours in peace, and I recommend the Orange and Lemon muffin too!!
