The King Of Wessex
5-10 James St West, Bath, BA1 2BX
Food is best avoided, but the drinks are well priced and the place does have some drinks it is hard to find anywhere else.
Tends to be full of young non-students, so never that friendly or nice an atmosphere. Lights that seems way to bright with excessively loud music for such a pub give it an unrivalled foul taste in you mouth, along with a headache. Feels more like...
Reviews for The King Of Wessex
Agree with the previous review, this is a very cheap and not very cheerful place, with the punters to match.

Tends to be full of young non-students, so never that friendly or nice an atmosphere. Lights that seems way to bright with excessively loud music for such a pub give it an unrivalled foul taste in you mouth, along with a headache. Feels more like a motorway service station restaurant that sells booze.
The worst Weatherspoons pub I have every been to.
The only positive thing i can say is its cheap, both the food and drink are very resonably priced. The curry night and sunday lunch offers are excellent value for money as they include a meal and a drink. The food is bad though, portion sizes are ok but its often cold or missing something which when you ask for you find they have run out of. The house wine is foul. The service is variable and the pub does attract quite a rough crowd so avoid on weekend nights. I have gone there when i only have a fiver on me and got a drink and meal for that so its ok if you are poor i guess.
