There are not many venues in ashton to watch live music, but i love this place. There is always talk of the witchwood closing down and if it ever did it would be a real shame. I have been to this place for about 10 years and would always go back. Inside it is a little small compared to bigger music venues in Manchester, but it is cosy and it is actually better as you can see the band clearly and it's more intimate. It is also a little scruffy and not what you would call trendy, but that just adds to it's charm. They have a lot of small bands on and tribute bands and over the years I have seen bands such as a T-Rex tribute band and Carl Palmer. The atmosphere and the sound inside the small room was fantastic and i came out after the gig with a real buzz. A must see venue for lovers of good, live music.
